Mayor Dailey Jones reported to Council that the City will resurface two road segments this month: Clague Road (southbound) and Dover Center Road from Lorain to the Westlake line (northbound). "It will be when school starts, unfortunately. School starts here in North Olmsted on August 21st," Jones said, adding that the administration is working directly with the school district on bus routes and notifying affected parents. She said all department directors are coordinating communications to residents and that while the construction will be challenging, the result will be a drivable Dover Center Road the city will be proud of.
The Mayor said the city located a contractor able to perform the work this year and that moving funds to complete the Dover Center work was an unexpected but necessary action. Council did not record an exact dollar figure in the spoken report; the Finance Department later referenced the appropriations item that supported equipment procurement.
