Committee recommends five items to full board, including Smithfield sprinkler pump repair

During the April 8 Properties and Facilities Committee meeting, members moved to recommend five items to the full East Stroudsburg Area SD board and approved the recommendation on a voice vote.

Key items recommended to the board included a quote to repair the Smithfield Elementary sprinkler fire pump and related work; staff said the pump is leaking and needs reassembly and repair. The committee recorded the recommended quote amount for the Smithfield Elementary sprinkler fire pump at $11,800 and agreed to include that item among recommendations to the board.

The committee also approved recommending payment of routine CHA invoices on the district capital payment list. Individual invoice line items discussed during the meeting included an ESE sprinkler-related invoice for $2,751.75, a JTL water‑heater related invoice listed as $996.80, and a Smithfield boiler‑related invoice for $485.80. These were discussed as part of the current payment and project lists and were included in the recommendation bundle.

Finally, the committee recommended proceeding with the North garage transformation to create driver workspace and approved the package of five recommendations in a single motion. The committee chair called for a vote; the motion carried on an affirmative voice vote as ‘‘All in favor. I. Opposed? All right.’’

Next steps: The recommendations will be taken to the full board for final approval and any procurement decisions will follow procurement thresholds and permitting requirements.
