Fayetteville Board adopts FY27 budgets and salary scales, renews audit contracts

At its monthly meeting, the Fayetteville Board of Education approved the FY27 general-purpose budget, the FY27 cafeteria budget and the FY27 capital projects budget, and moved the approved budgets forward for city-level consideration. The budgets were provided to board members in advance by email and were approved by voice vote.
The board also approved systemwide salary scales for FY26-27: a flat $2,400 increase for teachers and principals and a $1,200 increase for support staff (including custodians and educational assistants). School-level supplements for each school (including updated wording for Fayetteville High School supplements) were approved as presented.
The board renewed contracts with Matlock to audit the Board of Education accounts and the internal school funds; motions for both contracts were moved, seconded and approved.
All finance items were presented during the finance committee report and were adopted by the board by voice vote. No dissenting votes were recorded in the meeting transcript.
