The committee heard personnel updates during the July 12 meeting. Business staff reported the .75 groundskeeping position was filled and Robert McAnulty has started work, focusing on field upkeep and project starts.
The district also completed finalist interviews for the director of facilities and will forward a recommended finalist to Superintendent Jason DeFalco for interview; staff said the aim is to have the position in place by early August.
On the district social worker position, Jill (district staff) said the district has not yet hired a district social worker despite multiple posting rounds. The committee discussed retention challenges tied to the role’s 12-month requirement and pay competitiveness. As an interim measure (described as 'Plan D'), existing school adjustment counselors and counselors will divide caseloads and provide Tier 3 supports while recruitment continues. Staff reported outreach to networks and candidates and said they hope to present a hire at a future meeting.
Committee members asked for a personnel spreadsheet prior to the next meeting so the committee can track openings and filled positions; staff said they will provide updated lists and may use a weekly update to keep members informed.
