The Merced City Planning Commission on April 8 set a joint study session with the City Council for May 18 to receive an update on the general plan and confirmed two conditional use permits for mobile food vendors are scheduled for the May 6 meeting.
Chairperson Gonzales told commissioners the May 18 session will cover the general plan update; staff (Leah) will provide the exact start time (anticipated to be either 4 p.m. or 5 p.m.) as the date approaches. Commissioners were also told the regular planning commission meeting scheduled between now and May 6 would be canceled.
Commissioners were informed that two conditional use permits for mobile food vendors will come before the commission on May 6. No substantive discussion of the permits occurred at the April 8 meeting.
The commission also announced a staff promotion: Kayla was introduced as the commission's new planner. Commissioners congratulated Kayla and noted the department will need to identify a replacement so she can begin presenting projects.
The commission offered no additional planning comments and adjourned at 6:13 p.m.
