The committee approved a proposal to add two full‑time interventionists for seventh grade—one math and one ELA—to provide targeted, just‑in‑time support for students. Administration said the positions will be funded using ESSER funds and operate with a flexible schedule: co‑planning and co‑teaching during regular school hours (Mondays and Fridays) and extended intervention rotations on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays using an ESSER‑funded late bus.
Administrators said the interventionists will co‑plan with classroom teachers, lead small‑group instruction and rotate students by need. The committee discussed scheduling conflicts with athletics (practices) and asked administrators to coordinate with coaches; the union has been consulted about flex scheduling. The motion to approve the hiring of two interventionists was moved, seconded and passed by voice vote.
