Board approves WisDOT agreement for Veterans Parkway repairs; city share about $27,000

The Marshfield Board of Public Works voted to authorize execution of a State Municipal Financial Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for joint repairs and resurfacing projects on Veterans Parkway (State Highway 13) and State Highway 97.
Josh Marsh, public works director, said WisDOT identified joint repair and resurfacing segments on Veterans Parkway (Chestnut to McMillan and Galvin to Chestnut) and a resurfacing project from McMillan to Mann Street. He said the state's approach covers construction costs while the city's share is 25% of design costs. Marsh summarized cost estimates, saying "The total project cost is a little over 2.2 million, of which the city's responsibility is a little little over $27,000." He recommended approving the SMFA and authorizing execution.
After a motion, second and voice vote, the board carried the action. The agreement advances coordinated state-city repairs and keeps construction costs with WisDOT while securing city input on design work.
