North Olmsted council approves parks, traffic and event measures in unanimous votes

The North Olmsted City Council passed multiple resolutions and ordinances May 20 in a series of largely unanimous actions that covered parks, traffic, events and waste management.
Among the measures approved were Resolution 2025-39 authorizing a fireworks contract with Mad Bomber Fireworks Productions; Resolution 2025-40 authorizing advertisement for Phase 2 renovation bids at North Olmsted Community Park; and Resolution 2025-47 to advertise for bids for the Springvale Ballroom driveway project (estimated at about $94,000). Council also adopted Ordinance 2025-38 to add a 'No Parking From Here To Corner' sign on Limpert Lane and adopted Resolution 2025-43 approving a Preservation Covenant Agreement with the State Historic Preservation Office to meet requirements for a Save America’s Treasures grant for Old Town Hall.
The council placed several items on first reading, including resolutions to advertise for bids on Walter and Lorain Roads signalization (Resolution 2025-48) and to ratify the Cuyahoga County Solid Waste Management Plan (Resolution 2025-49). Council also introduced and immediately adopted Resolution 2025-50 to apply for and accept a $150,000 Natureworks grant from the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for playground equipment after suspending the three-reading rule to meet the grant deadline.
Most measures were routine and approved by roll call votes of 6-0. Council scheduled committee meetings for May 27 to continue work on remaining items and excused two absent members before adjourning at 8:12 p.m.
