Committee authorizes Eagle Scout project to restore cafeteria deck

The project timeline Burgess described calls for fundraising to begin after committee approval and troop and council reviews, with work likely in late July or early August and completion targeted for early September. He said routine maintenance arrangements would be coordinated with janitorial and grounds staff after project completion.
School committee member Matt Catalano moved to authorize the project; Jane Reio seconded the motion. The motion carried by voice vote. Committee members thanked Burgess for his preparation and asked him to leave paperwork for signatures so the troop can proceed with district and scouting approvals.
The committee recorded no conditions on the authorization besides standard permitting and typical paperwork signatures. Burgess said he would keep the committee informed by email as the project proceeds.
