Staff: conservation-overlay study session and outreach on ADUs expected

Planning staff told the Englewood City Planning and Zoning Commission on April 7 that the commission can expect a further study session on a proposed conservation overlay in two weeks, and that staff will contact the neighborhood preservation early overlay group about whether those neighborhoods wish to remove accessory dwelling units (ADUs) from their prohibited lists.
"In two weeks, we should have another discussion about conservation overlay," staff member Brian said, adding that staff would work on notification and scheduling for neighborhood conversations and follow-up public outreach. Brian described outreach as the next step for the earlier public hearing matter and the ADU issue.
The update did not include a vote or a schedule of specific dates beyond the two-week study-session window; staff said they would reach out to affected neighborhoods and public works or other departments as appropriate for follow-up meetings.
Commissioners asked procedural questions and noted broader state law changes pending that may affect local rules; no formal policy change was adopted at the meeting.
