County staff explained the parcel contains a vestigial county road that has not functioned as a public road for decades and which, because it remains on the county record as a county road, has created access and trespass complications for neighboring private property owners. The staff presentation characterized the action as clearing title and removing a source of conflict for property owners in the area.
Paul Snipes, a Luraville resident who identified his address for the record and spoke on behalf of area residents and the Luraville Baptist Church, asked the board to proceed with the resolution so the status of the road would be made official; no other members of the public spoke on the matter during the hearing.
Board members had no further discussion after public comment and voted to adopt the resolution. The chair closed the public hearing and motion to adopt was recorded as unanimous.
