The North Plat City Council granted a conditional-use permit to Lutheran Family Services on April 7 to build a new outpatient health clinic at 1160 Linda Court.
Matt Peterson, speaking for Lutheran Family Services, said the organization plans scheduled outpatient services only and that the existing clinic on 12th Street will be converted to crisis services, potentially including a medical-detox function. Peterson told the council the new clinic will not provide residential treatment or overnight stays and that appointments will be staggered to limit traffic peaks. A councilmember asked about signage; staff indicated the applicant likely would not use an electronic flashing sign, and a brief motion to prohibit flashing electronic signs was introduced and then withdrawn after staff noted existing building-code limits on sign intensity.
Councilmembers expressed support for the project and praised Lutheran Family Services as a community partner. The council approved the conditional-use permit with standard conditions requiring compliance with applicable ordinances, adequate utilities and ingress/egress that minimize traffic congestion.
Staff will work with the applicant on final permit documentation and any specific signage or parking details required by the conditional-use approval.
