Ada County planning commissioners on April 8 approved a two‑year time extension for project 20230042, allowing more time for construction and final permitting of an outdoor recreation facility and an associated contractor shop.
Brent Danielson, county planning staff, told the board the project covers about 24.27 acres south of Boise and northeast of Kuna and that most conditions — including fire‑flow, drainage and septic approvals — have been satisfied. He said the applicant sought extra time because the nonprofit that funds much of the baseball and softball facility, 208 Baseball and Softball, has not yet raised all funds needed to complete building permits and zoning certificates.
Applicant Ryan Coulson told the board he and his business partner have been covering expenses, that framing inspections have passed, and that the outstanding step is issuance of building permits. He said the requested extension would give them adequate time to finish fundraising and obtain permits.
Commissioners asked about schedule and the sufficiency of two years; Coulson replied the window should allow the permit process to conclude. The board voted to grant the two‑year extension.
The extension preserves the previously approved master site plan and allows the applicant to return with building permits and certificates required by Ada County and other reviewing agencies. No written neighbor objections were recorded in the staff file. The extension was approved on a voice vote of the commissioners present.
