At its Jan. 13 meeting the Milligville City Council completed several routine and procedural items, adopting minutes, approving two resolutions, accepting a rezoning withdrawal and moving into closed session.
Minutes: Council unanimously approved minutes from Dec. 9, Dec. 17, Dec. 22 (joint city-county) and Dec. 31, 2025 after roll-call votes.
Streetlights: By roll call the council adopted Resolution R-2601-01 authorizing a lighting services agreement with Georgia Power Company to install three LED roadway lights on Old Meal Court and one LED light on Hillenddale Drive.
CPA services: Council adopted Resolution R-2601-03 authorizing a contract with CKH Consulting LLC to provide CPA services for the finance department.
Dunlap withdrawal: During the public hearing for 841 Dunlap Road, zoning staff read a letter from the applicant (identified in the record as Lisa Khan) requesting to withdraw the rezoning application without prejudice to allow more time to work with staff; the council accepted that withdrawal by motion and roll-call vote.
Executive session and adjournment: The council voted to enter closed session for personnel and real estate matters, recessed, returned to open session, heard closing comments praising staff, welcomed new council members and adjourned.
City manager’s calendar notes: City Manager Miss Hilson Buds reminded council of upcoming events including the Cities United Summit (Jan. 21–26), a Georgia Department of Transportation meeting in the council chambers (Jan. 20) and a comprehensive plan review with the Middle Georgia Regional Commission (Jan. 28). She also recognized water and sewer staff for recent certification passes and emergency response efforts.
Why it matters: These votes move routine administrative business and city operational agreements forward; the withdrawal of the Dunlap application preserves the applicant’s right to reapply without waiting periods, and the lighting agreement initiates localized streetlight installations.
