Roseville district honors West Park staff, parents say their response saved a student's life

"When she arrived in the classroom, she quickly assessed Mark, immediately began CPR, and directed Dave to retrieve the AED, which she then used expertly to revive Mark," Principal Becky House said during the presentation.
Chris Moon, the student’s father, thanked staff and said medical personnel told the family that the school’s actions saved his son’s life. "Every doctor, every nurse, every medical technician said that West Park High School saved his life," Moon said. The student was stabilized by paramedics, spent time in intensive care locally and later transferred to Stanford Children’s Hospital.
Board members lauded the staff’s training and composure; the district presented Panther Service Awards to eight employees involved in the response, including assistant principal Briana Herd, secretary Paige Cahill, assistant principal secretary Chris Biggan, assistant principal Logan Loya, band teacher Patrick Nef, campus monitor Dave Underhill, SRO Adaris Wilson and school nurse Jennifer Bear.
