The West Chicago City Council on April 6 approved two financial items: a funding agreement with the Western DuPage Chamber of Commerce for the 2026 America 250 parade in an amount not to exceed $5,000, and a corporate disbursement report totaling $1,584,419.7.
Alderman Smith read Resolution 26-R-0029 authorizing the parade funding agreement. A motion to approve the resolution was made and the roll call recorded 'Aye' votes from the aldermen present; the measure passed. Earlier in the meeting Alderman Dimas moved to approve the corporate disbursement report for April 6, 2026 in the amount of $1,584,419.7, a motion seconded by Alderman Stout; the roll call again recorded 'Aye' votes from the aldermen present and the motion passed.
The roll call recorded affirmative votes from Alderwoman Alcántar-Garcia; Aldermen Santiago, Sheahan, Hernandez, Dimas, Birch Ferguson, Smith, Swiatek, Stout, Aviña Soto and Morano. Alderman Carreto-Muñoz did not record a vote during the corporate disbursement roll call.
Neither item generated substantive debate in the minutes beyond the formal reading and roll-call votes. The council moved on to other business after the approvals; there were no amendments or recorded dissent on these measures.
