Susan Eugenis, county engineer, told the board the firm will be used for tasks such as updating the county’s water-system model, reviewing larger development proposals that affect system capacity, and supporting work at treatment plants. "What we have before you today is a professional service agreement with Gibson Olson, engineering to provide water and sewer engineering services on an as needed basis through 12/31/2028 with a total cost not to exceed 200,000," Eugenis said.
Commissioner (speaker 3) moved approval of agenda item 7, the professional services agreement; the chair called the vote and announced the motion carried. The board noted this agreement continues a periodic contracting practice following an RFQ and interview process the county used to select the firm.
The contract was described as an update to an ongoing arrangement rather than a new, multi-year sole-source award; Eugenis said the county conducts RFQs and interviews and selected Gibson Olson from among applicants. No additional budgetary breakdown was provided during the meeting.
The board took no further action on the item beyond approving the professional services agreement.
