The Anchorage Municipality Women’s Commission finalized plans for an informal, in-person social and directed staff to contact the mayor’s office about attending a future meeting.
After discussing availability, members settled on Friday, May 15 at 5:30 p.m. at a Midtown meeting location for a non-business social to build relationships among commissioners. Several members noted scheduling constraints and travel plans but agreed the date and time would allow most members to attend.
Commissioners also discussed inviting the mayor to a regular commission meeting to hear from her office. Sharon offered to contact the mayor’s office to request a calendar slot, suggesting September or later would be more realistic than the next meeting. “I can ask the mayor’s office if we can get her on the calendar for our September meeting,” Sharon said during the discussion. The group agreed staff should attempt scheduling and report back.
The chair closed the meeting after calling for public comment (none recorded) and confirmed the commission’s next regular meeting is June 4 at 4:30 p.m. The group adjourned following a motion to adjourn.
