Board reviews March financials, approves purchase orders and authorizes FY27 budget advertisement

Staff reported a final SPLAST deposit of about $489,000 that closes the FY22 SPLAST cycle. March actual revenues were presented around $54 million with expenditures of about $52 million, producing a $1.3 million surplus before accruals; with accruals, staff said revenues increased to roughly $62 million (about 79% of budget). Cash on hand was reported near $17 million, about $2 million less than the prior year, and staff said a roughly $2 million utility payment was pending.
The board approved three purchase orders: cameras to be purchased from a $5.9 million construction bond for Murray County High School construction, nutrition supplies for the summer feeding program, and previously approved federally funded library book vending machines. Members asked whether cameras across campuses would be consolidated on a single software platform; staff said cameras are currently on two systems and consolidation is a future goal.
The board voted to approve the financial statements, the purchase orders, and to advertise the FY27 budget as presented. It also approved several field trips and the personnel packet as amended.
