The Murray County School Board approved the third reading of board policy JCDAF, changing the district’s cell-phone regulation to apply to grades K–8, district staff said.
Staff explained the revision consolidates prior language and aligns the district policy with a state action signed by the governor last week. The board moved to approve the policy and the motion passed without further amendment.
The board did not identify any immediate enforcement changes at the meeting; staff were asked to incorporate the revised language into the policy packet and implement the update.
What’s next: Staff will update the published policy in the district packet to reflect the K–8 application and communicate changes to schools as needed.
