Student Director of Finance Molina Lopez reported to the council that the quarter ended March 31, 2026, showed a grand total of about $62,260,368 in city investments.
"For the investment report, we have a grand total of around 62,260,368," Molina Lopez said and described approximately $45 million in on-call deposits, roughly $3 million in short-term investments, about $7 million in medium-term investments and $8 million in long-term investments. The local agency investment interest rate was reported at roughly 3.82% as of March 31, 2026, and the director said the city remains largely liquid with roughly 72% of funds available.
Student Director of Municipal Services Elizabeth Bernowki described the art-and-public-spaces program funded through a business license contribution from Sprouts Market, saying a new round of electrical-box artwork has been approved and is in production for installation in the coming days. She said funding remains for ongoing installations.
Student Director of Community Services Ace Himenez described a free "Yoga on the Lawn" program held Saturday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. May through September at the Lawndale Civic Center; the instructor is bilingual and some equipment is available for beginners.
Student Director of Public Works Mattel Okonaz Cruz reviewed the city's graffiti-abatement program and said staff seek continued funding from the general fund for fiscal year 2026–2027; staff provided a hotline number for reporting graffiti and said crews respond citywide.
None of these informational reports included council votes in the transcript; the investment presentation referenced the city's investment policy and a state government code provision.
