On separate business the court held a first reading of an ordinance adopting the uniform statewide building code for Carroll County (excluding the city limits of Carrollton). The ordinance text was placed on file with the court clerk and members discussed that after second reading the court would consider a resolution to enter a contract with Mr. Dunaway related to implementation.
The county attorney reported a proposed property deed from Body Dharma Zen Monastery on Gilgal to the city and the county to settle unpaid taxes; the county’s share to accept the deed and clear taxes was reported at $65,844 and the court approved paying that share and accepting the deed.
The court also accepted the resignation of Brian Wilson from the ethics commission and appointed Gwen Abbott to fill the district 2 seat; the appointee will be sworn in at the meeting.
