District plans facilities work: Slatington water-softener, gym-floor repair, banners and summer workers

The district solicited prices to replace worn and shredded light-pole banners on the main campus; 30 vinyl banners with wind flaps were quoted at $4,950 and would be paid from the school-board budget line if approved. Administration recommended placing the item on the board agenda.
Facilities also asked to hire eight student summer workers and a supervisor to help with painting, furniture moves for the flooring project, landscaping and general maintenance; committee members supported the request and the item will move to the board for approval.
What comes next: Administration will bring these facilities items to the full-board agenda for approval and schedule the gym-floor work and water-softener installations during the summer and next year, respectively.
