Dr. Morse introduced TJ Rendell, the district’s coordinator of special education, who described the plan as “our framework for how we provide services and supports to students with disabilities.” Rendell said the five‑year review involved special education teachers, general education teachers, building administrators, special‑education facilitators, an AEA representative and district leaders to clarify the continuum of services and to improve consistency and transparency in caseload determination.
Rendell said the district submitted the draft for approval and expects to post it on the district website for a 20‑calendar‑day public comment period with an attached Google form. Staff will collect feedback, return the plan to the board and then seek final approval. The presentation emphasized that staffing decisions are to be driven by student need and service intensity rather than enrollment counts.
No action was required at this meeting; board members thanked staff for the work and noted the next procedural steps: public posting for comment and a future board review and vote.
