At its May 12, 2026 meeting, the Town Commission approved the consent agenda, which included multiple routine and project-related items and an authorization related to the water treatment plant expansion.
Items read into the consent agenda included approval of the April 28, 2026 meeting minutes; authorization to serve wine at artist receptions for the 2026'27 exhibit season; an after-school program contract (Discovery); approval to solicit proposals for water treatment plant expansion and improvements; and final cost approval for Catherine Ross Road.
A commissioner (speaker 2) commented specifically on the water treatment plant expansion, thanking staff for identifying design adjustments that reduced costs and stating the project could be paid for using impact fees. "Glad to see that it can be paid for by impact fees," the commissioner said, noting appreciation for staff efforts to lower design costs.
A motion to accept the consent agenda was made, seconded, and approved by the commission. Staff indicated bidding and coordination work will continue as needed and that engineering reports are in progress for adjacent resurfacing projects that the town may be able to piggyback onto to reduce mobilization costs for related street work.
The consent vote bundled multiple administrative approvals and directs staff to proceed with procurement and next steps for the listed projects.
