A motion by Council Member Badley, supported by Mayor Pro Tem Winston, to approve the letter of authorization for BMJ Engineers carried by a recorded vote of 5–1 (one council member opposed). Council asked staff to confirm schedule details; Bishop said the goal is to complete the work before school lets out.
The authorization covers professional services for both design and construction observation; the council did not vote on the underlying construction contract during this meeting (the contract award had been handled previously).
