Board appoints officers, nominates housing‑council rep and holds rule updates

The Reynoldsburg Planning & Zoning Board handled a set of routine organizational items at its Jan. 15 meeting, appointing officers and holding proposed rule changes for later adoption.
With Chair Alex First absent, a board member nominated him and the board approved his appointment as chair. The board also nominated Mr. Benner as vice chair and approved making staff the board’s secretary. The appointments were made by motion and second and approved by voice/roll call.
Staff presented three proposed amendments to the board’s rules: allow skipping the first meeting of January and July at the board’s discretion; standardize the font across documents; and increase the application filing deadline from 14 to 21 days to match other board deadlines. The board discussed the changes and agreed to hold the item for consideration and possible adoption at a future meeting.
Director Meyer explained the city’s housing council role and recommended the board appoint a representative; the board nominated and approved Alex First as its housing‑council representative. The meeting adjourned at 7:02 p.m.
