Weber County approves Plain City interlocal for 2200 North improvements and renews paramedic agreements with local fire districts

Weber County commissioners on May 12 approved a pair of interlocal actions affecting transportation and emergency medical services.
The commission voted to approve Resolution 19-2026, an interlocal agreement with Plain City that directs Weber County to complete identified road improvements on a small unincorporated island on 2200 North. County staff, represented at the meeting by Sean Wilkinson, said the work includes piping, road base and paving the road to a 22-foot width and requires acquisition of right-of-way where needed. Wilkinson said that once the county completes those improvements Plain City will, within 60 days, adopt an ordinance to annex the properties identified in the related exhibit.
The commission also approved a set of interlocal cooperation agreements to continue countywide paramedic services with Northview Fire District, Ogden City (corporation), Roy City and Weber Fire District (resolutions numbered in sequence at the meeting). Emergency management official Lisa Gosselin told commissioners the agreements sustain a program she described as high-performing and focused on patient outcomes. Multiple fire chiefs who came forward, including a chief introduced as Slater, thanked the county for ongoing support, said the paramedic program dates to the mid-1980s and described outcome and workforce benefits from the regional approach. One chief said the program helps keep paramedics in the local market.
Commissioners noted the program's performance figures during discussion; a chief reported that in denser parts of the county average response times are about 5 minutes 40 seconds. Commissioners praised the 911 operations and interagency cooperation that support rapid response.
A third resolution on the agenda, Resolution 24-2026 to transfer tax revenue for the 2026 calendar year to the new Ogden Valley City, was discussed but held for one week. County staff member Chris Crockett asked for a one-week hold to verify statutory requirements and all tax sources; the commission set the item for the May 19 meeting.
Votes at the meeting were taken by roll call. Resolution 19-2026 and the paramedic interlocal resolutions were approved as read.
