Bowen Pacquale, serving as president pro tem, was elected council president by Reynoldsburg City Council on Dec. 15, 2025 following a nomination from a colleague.
Council member Towns nominated Pacquale, saying, "I motion to nominate council member Boone Pacquale to be president of council." The roll-call vote recorded six ayes and one abstention (the nominee), and council announced Pacquale as the new council president. Pacquale told the chamber he was "a little nervous but, thank you," and expressed gratitude to residents and colleagues.
The selection followed council rules requiring a majority of the existing members. Mayor Beggeny will administer the oath as the council transitions leadership. Council members offered brief remarks thanking outgoing president Shannette Strickland and recognizing Pacquale's service as president pro tem.
Pacquale's elevation creates a vacancy for the Ward 3 seat. Counsel and the president pro tem said the city will solicit applications from Ward 3 residents; the council set a proposed application deadline of Jan. 5, 2026 and said interviews and a possible appointment could occur at the organizational meeting scheduled for Jan. 12, 2026.
The meeting returned to regular business after the swearing-in and concluded with announcements about upcoming meetings and holiday wishes.
