Commission approves indoor interactive recreation venue at 830 South Main Street

The Cheshire Planning & Zoning Commission unanimously approved a special permit on May 11 for an indoor interactive recreational activity facility at 830 South Main Street.
Carmela Valentino (speaker 5), representing property owner Antonio Casisi, introduced prospective operator Devin Valencia (speaker 6), who described a small-franchise, appointment-based, immersive light activity with three interactive rooms and a party room intended for children's parties and family visits. "It's all scheduled ahead of time, so it's very staggered appointments," Valencia said, adding the rooms are insulated, have glass panels for observation, and the business will operate by appointment with no alcohol service.
Staff confirmed the proposed use is specially permitted in the C-3 zone and that parking requirements are met. Commissioners asked about supervision and whether parents can drop off minors; Valencia said franchise standards would address age/parent supervision requirements and he would confirm those policies prior to opening. The commission moved and approved the special permit based on submitted plans (Mark Petren Architects, dated 04/02/2026). The approval was unanimous.
The applicants said they will provide additional materials to the town as needed and comply with building- and accessibility-related permits when the project advances.
