Reynoldsburg council approves consent agenda and several project items unanimously

At the Sept. 8 meeting the Reynoldsburg City Council approved a multi-item consent agenda and related committee forwards covering grants, tax-certifications, street projects and infrastructure acceptance.
Consent agenda (items 10a–10e) Council moved and approved the consent agenda (motion by Councilmember Sabati, second by Councilmember Baker). The items included: - A BWC (Bureau of Workers' Compensation) grant to purchase a portable traffic signal for citywide use by water/wastewater and public-works crews. - Resolutions accepting estimated amounts and authorizing necessary tax levies and certifying them to the Licking County auditor and to the Franklin County auditor. - A resolution repealing and replacing a 2025 nuisance-cost certification to correct a spreadsheet error. - A resolution authorizing acceptance of the Sheetz project and associated public-infrastructure improvements (amended in committee from an ordinance to a resolution before being forwarded).
The clerk conducted a roll-call vote and the consent resolutions were approved 7–0.
Committee forwards and first readings - Public Service & Transportation Committee forwarded an OPWC project/grant/loan ordinance for Summit Road reconstruction to council for first reading. - The committee forwarded a contract authorization with EMH&T for Wagner Road phases 1 and 2 to council for first reading and asked staff for schedule updates (paving targeted mid-September if weather holds). - An appropriation ordinance for the 2025 street improvement project (part 2) covering streets in the Licking County portion was forwarded; the engineer’s estimate was about $209,000 with a low bid reported (Strauser) that fell within the 20% allowable threshold.
Why it matters: The consent approvals authorize grant-funded equipment to improve traffic safety during maintenance events, correct an administrative nuisance-cost record, and clear routine project and tax-levy steps needed to move construction and budget planning forward. The vote was unanimous where recorded.
