Lancaster Council approves annexation, zoning, easement and budget adjustments in unanimous votes

Lancaster City Council voted unanimously on Oct. 6 to approve several items brought forward on final or suspended readings.
The council approved Ordinance Temporary 46-25 to accept the annexation of approximately 163.434 acres in Greenfield Township (the Rock Mill Industrial Park). On the same matter, council amended and passed Ordinance 47-25* to set the zoning of the annexed land to advanced manufacturing; both votes carried 8-0.
Council suspended rules and approved Ordinance Temporary 52-25 to accept a perpetual easement on E. Fair Avenue enabling Ohio Power Company to expand a substation; the motion to suspend and the pass motion each carried 8-0.
Financial housekeeping measures were also approved. Council suspended rules and passed Temporary Resolution 82-25 to appropriate from the unencumbered balance and amend the certificate of appropriations so an account would not go into the red for postage; the motion to pass carried 8-0. Council similarly suspended rules and passed Temporary Resolution 86-25 to accept amounts and rates determined by the Fairfield County Budget Commission and certify tax levies to the county auditor; that motion also carried 8-0.
A motion to pay routine publication bills was carried by council. Several items remain at first or second reading and will return to council for future votes.
