Resident raises condemnation objection; remote commenter flags election-office staffing gaps

Two public commenters used the meeting's non-agenda public-comment period to raise separate concerns about county procedures and staffing.

A county resident spoke in person to say he received a notice that Willistown Township plans to condemn his farm's agricultural security area. He told the board the notice contained "incorrect and misleading statements," said the law requires the commissioners to hold a hearing within 60 days of the notice and said he had retained counsel to seek a court order if the hearing is not voluntarily scheduled.

Separately, a remote caller who identified herself as Elizabeth C. of Cowan Township asked the commissioners to clarify statements made in a recent interview and to confirm staffing changes in the Voter Services office. She said the day's agenda lists two staff (one full-time, one part-time) whose employment ends next Wednesday and said that departure would leave at least five full-time and two part-time vacancies — roughly a third of the department's positions. She asked where the board stands on filling the director position and what measures are being taken.

Board response: commissioners thanked the speakers; the chair said an update would be provided at the elections meeting. No formal board action was taken on either item during the meeting.
