During public comment at the April 7 Fulton County commissioners meeting, resident Fred Black told commissioners a grant opportunity for the Hustontown Senior Center is set to expire at the end of May and recommended the county use the funding for lighting. Commissioners directed Black to coordinate with Building and Maintenance Director Brad Seville on the proposed project; no final spending decision was recorded at the meeting.
Later, Sarah Kirchner, senior grant analyst, and Wendy Yeager, unit supervisor with the Office of the Budget, briefed the board on a previously applied‑for RACP grant. They said the county’s earlier proposal failed to meet the grant criteria and that a new funding round would open soon, allowing the county to submit a different project for consideration.
Chief Probation Officer Dan Miller presented ideas for using grant funding to add employee hours in his department and said he would return to the commissioners on April 28 for possible final approval. Commissioners did not take a funding action on these items at the April 7 meeting.
