Mrs. Crites said the ordinances would restore enforcement authority to the Lancaster Police Department to address those conflicts.
Temp Ord #44-25 would keep the city’s moratorium on allowing cannabis dispensaries in place; Mrs. Crites said the law committee recommended leaving the moratorium until state guidance is clearer and to revisit the decision before 2028.
On Temp Ord #45-25, Mrs. Crites said the administration proposes pooling inspection fees into a single fund to pay for one inspector responsible for contractor inspections. SSD Woody told the committee the city already has a qualified employee on staff to handle that inspector role.
