Staff previews 2026 budget and grant projects; Council set for annexation hearing

SSD Woody previewed the first draft of the 2026 budget and described a Healthy Living Grant-funded intersection upgrade at Mount Pleasant Elementary; Auditor Nettles said Bond Counsel is preparing Ety Road TIF legislation. SSD Woody told the committee the first draft of the 2026 budget will come for first reading at the next meeting. Woody also said the City partnered with the County Health Department on a Healthy Living Grant from the Ohio Department of Health that funded a safer intersection upgrade at Mount Pleasant Elementary and thanked Water Pollution Control staff (Curtis, Jake and Steven) for participating in United Way Care Day cleanup work.
Auditor Nettles reported that Bond Counsel is preparing the annual Ety Road TIF legislation, which will be coming before Council. President Porter advised committee members that a public hearing on an annexation from Greenfield Township will occur during the upcoming Council meeting.
