The Administrative Services Committee item was presented on July 14 to rename a court position so the court can advertise following a retirement.
Mr. Luchtenberg deferred to the Law Director and introduced Jackie Long, Municipal Court administrator, who explained that an unexpected retirement of the court’s Director of Probation Services prompted a reallocation of duties. The proposal would change a position title to Grants Writer/Manager and redistribute probation responsibilities to other positions, allowing the court to begin recruitment.
Why it matters: the change is administrative but enables the court to advertise a redefined position and reorganize responsibilities. The sponsor requested suspension so advertising can begin; the minutes do not record a committee vote on the suspension or the position change.
