City advances Miller Park Phase 1 design contract; sidewalk right‑of‑way purchase introduced

Separately, Engineer Shonk explained Temp Ord #2-26, a piece to acquire property rights necessary for the Memorial‑Pierce‑Whittier Sidewalk Project; funds for the right‑of‑way purchase were identified as coming from a CORPO grant. That ordinance was introduced with no committee discussion and listed for two readings.
Both items were presented as routine procurement and right‑of‑way steps to keep capital projects on schedule; the committee did not take final votes on either item during the Feb. 9 meeting.
