Historic Lancaster Commission approves minutes, signs administrative approvals; two old-business items remain tabled

The Historic Lancaster Commission convened March 18, approved the minutes from the January 21, 2026 meeting, and handled several administrative and old-business items before adjourning at 2:40 PM.
A motion by Commissioner Debi Stemble to approve the January 21 minutes, seconded by Commissioner Jason Annecy, carried unanimously. Staff member Andrew reported he had administratively approved two applications for white window-cling signs at 117 W. Main St. and 113 S. Columbus St.
Two items under old business remain tabled: CA-00552 (955 Lincoln Ave. — demolition and parking) was left tabled at the applicant’s request pending exterior drawings; CA-00558 (214/216 S. Columbus St. — window replacement) remained tabled after a discussion about cost differences, with Andrew Mott stating wood replacements could be $2,000–$2,500 per unit versus roughly $550 per unit for vinyl. The applicant requested more time to provide formal quotes and proof of financial hardship required by guidelines for material changes.
The commission scheduled its next regular meeting for April 15, 2026, at 2:00 PM at City Hall, 104 E. Main St., Lancaster, Ohio. Matt Brady adjourned the meeting at 2:40 PM. Minutes were submitted by Shannon Seesholtz.
