Commission confirms airport board appointments, renews fuel-card agreement and asks planning updates for RV parks

Paul Thur, in his capacity for Airports and Land Planning, presented routine airport business at the March 18 meeting and requested renewal of a fuel credit-card system used by county airports. Commissioner Dave Neves moved to approve the agreements; the motion was seconded and carried.
Thur asked the commission to appoint Simmons and Hawkins to the Airport Board to aid recruitment and planning; Neves moved to confirm the appointments and the motion passed. Thur said the Airport Board would like him to begin work on instrument approaches for Runway 27 at Cowley and Runways 26 and 16 at Greybull. He also reported that county subdivision regulations do not currently address RV parks and that a land-planning update is needed to correct and add provisions.
Commissioners clarified that airport-board recruitment is advisory to staff but that final appointment authority rests with the commission. Next steps include staff proceeding with fuel agreement administrative steps, Thur initiating instrument-approach planning, and a land-planning revision to address RV-park regulation gaps.
