The Health and Social Services Commission called its April 8, 2026 meeting to order at 12:40 p.m. but immediately determined it did not have a quorum and moved to reschedule routine business for a later date.
The chair announced, “We do not have a quorum this meeting,” and explained that, without a quorum, the only business the group could conduct was to set another meeting time. The clerk’s office offered two options: Wednesday, April 15 at 12:30 p.m. and Wednesday, May 6 at 12:30 p.m.
Commissioner Walker moved to adjourn to the April 15 date; the motion was seconded by Miss Boyle. Commissioners and participants discussed availability constraints, with one member saying they could only attend from 12:30 to 1:00 p.m. and another noting that May 6 would be difficult because of travel.
After a brief recess to confirm schedules, Walker amended the motion to set the reconvened meeting for 12:00 p.m. on the fifteenth; Boyle seconded the amendment. The commission then voted, and the chair announced the motion carried, 4-0.
The chair formally adjourned the meeting at 12:47 p.m., stating the Health and Social Services Commission would meet next at noon on April 15, 2026. No substantive policy items or votes on ordinances, contracts, or budgets were taken during the session.
Attendance at the April 8 meeting included four voting members who recorded their presence during roll call; the transcript contains inconsistent spellings for one member’s surname (appearing as both “George Beattiesworth” and later as “George Gradysworth”), which is noted below.
