The Historic Lancaster Commission on April 16 approved two roof-replacement applications, tabled one application for lack of information, and approved the amended minutes from March 19, 2025.
Sherman King of Reidac represented CA-00529 (147 E. Wheeling St.), telling the commission the homeowner will replace the roof like-for-like with black shadow shingles and that the roof profile, soffit wrapping, fascia and gutters will remain unchanged. Matt Brady moved to approve CA-00529; Joyce Harvey seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Brent Odson of RVR presented CA-00530 (333 N. Broad St.), describing a storm-damage replacement: the owner will replace three-tab and dimensional shingles with full-dimensional asphalt shingles in black shadow; no changes to soffit, fascia or gutters were planned. Matt Brady moved to approve; Joyce Harvey seconded; motion granted unanimously.
The commission considered CA-00532 (316 N. Columbus St.), covering masonry, roofs, gutters and windows, but the applicant was not present. Commissioners agreed more information was needed and voted to table the application (motion by Matt Brady; seconded by Debi Stemble; unanimous).
The commission also recorded an administrative approval for CA-00531 (105 N. Columbus St. — white vinyl window cling) and approved the amended minutes from the March 19 meeting on a motion by Debi Stemble, seconded by Matt Brady.
There were no recorded dissents; Jason Annecy was noted as absent at roll call. The commission discussed police-department signage and storm-damage repairs as information items. The next regular meeting is scheduled for May 21, 2025, at 2:00 PM at City Hall, 104 E. Main St., Lancaster.
