Historic Lancaster Commission approves four business signs on Main and Wheeling streets

The Historic Lancaster Commission unanimously approved four signage applications on Sept. 17, 2025, permitting wall and blade signs at 123 S. Broad St., 110 E. Main St., 158 W. The Historic Lancaster Commission on Sept. 17 approved four separate signage applications for business façades along S. Broad, E. Main and W. Wheeling streets.
Applicant Colin Brinkman said he will install a non-illuminated ACM (aluminum composite material) panel wall sign with vinyl graphics on the second-floor Main Street façade of 123 S. Broad St., with a blue background and white lettering. ‘‘ACM is an aluminum composite material,’’ Brinkman said, and he confirmed the sign will extend from the window to the end of the building. Jason Annecy moved to approve CA-00553 as submitted; Debi Stemble seconded the motion, which carried unanimously.
For CA-00554 at 110 E. Main St., the applicant was not present but Amanda Everitt answered commissioners’ questions. The commission discussed installing an ACM wall panel and an aluminum blade sign in the same location as the prior sign; Amanda confirmed the blade sign fits the existing holder. Matt Brady moved to approve the application as submitted; Jason Annecy seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Eric and Karina Tidrick presented CA-00555 for 158 W. Wheeling St., proposing a black aluminum sign with pink lettering in the previous sign location. Debi Stemble moved to approve; Matt Brady seconded, and the motion passed unanimously. Julie Schmeltzer represented CA-00556 at 160 W. Wheeling St., describing a white sign with black lettering to be installed in the prior sign’s location; Matt Brady moved to approve, Jason Annecy seconded, and the motion carried unanimously.
Each of the four motions passed with no recorded opposition. The commission noted that the proposed signs will be installed in previously occupied sign locations and recorded basic material and color details for its files. The commission’s next regular meeting is scheduled for Oct. 15, 2025.
