Key recommendations include hiring dedicated urban‑agriculture staff, expanding culturally responsive programming and activating recently acquired open‑space parcels for hands‑on learning.
Parks staff said the plan will be implemented using existing open‑space budgets and that the county will broaden outreach to community partners and schools. Commissioners praised the plan’s engagement process and directed staff to continue community‑led design and staffing work.
The motion passed by roll call; staff said they expect to begin implementation steps this year and will report back with timelines and staffing proposals.
