The assembly moved and seconded the appointment and authorization to execute the employment agreement. After brief procedural discussion about having an interim position spelled out in the contract, the motion to appoint Winter carried. Following the appointment, the assembly also voted to approve the interim employment agreement and authorize its execution.
Chair introduced Winter to the audience as new to the borough and said his wife works at the clinic. Winter addressed the assembly and public, saying he takes responsibility for the role, will work with integrity and transparency, and expects to use his accounting and audit background to push the 2025 audit forward to secure funding for community needs including the clinic.
Assembly members directed staff to introduce Winter to department heads and to make efforts to familiarize borough employees with the interim manager. The assembly also scheduled follow-up work (including a budget workshop) to address the audit and fiscal matters.
