Troy board hears construction and traffic-study update, approves routine business and transfers

On traffic, S3 said engineers recommended changes at a South Side intersection; a signal installation could cost “somewhere around 300,000,” and the board discussed proposing a three-way cost split with city and county partners.
“I think there’s sort of a three-way interest in going ahead and doing it now,” S3 said, signaling potential intergovernmental cost-sharing to get a signal in place before the school opens.
On finance, Director (S4) described two routine fund transfers: an annual move from the general fund to a dedicated turf-replacement cost center and a transfer into the debt service account for the high school project’s June payment. S4 reported income-tax receipts are up 3.18% year over year, about $479,000, which the board said helps absorb inflation-driven cost increases.
The board approved standard agenda items by motion and roll call: minutes from the April 13 meeting; the financial report; acceptance of gifts (monthly total $21,308.95; fiscal-year-to-date $164,970.21); awarding 359 diplomas to this year’s graduating class; and routine program approvals including the federal lunch program, reimbursement in lieu of transportation, and multiple out-of-state and in-state athletic and band trips. Personnel items and several hires and role changes were approved as presented.

The board moved into an executive session to discuss the purchase or sale of property and other allowable real-property matters; the chair later stated no decisions were made in executive session.
