Staff presented a third-quarter activity report for the San Clemente Municipal Golf Course and committee members asked for more detailed breakdowns (resident vs. nonresident rounds, fee types and year-to-date totals) to better evaluate the impact of recent rate changes.
A committee member requested that future reports separate resident and nonresident rounds and include fee-type detail so the committee can assess the effect of prior nonresident rate increases. Staff agreed to add those breakdowns in the next report.
Staff also said multi-factor authentication (MFA) for tee-time bookings is now available as an email option (not text message) and the group discussed remaining bot- and resale-related risks. Staff said a task force is compiling an operations RFP that staff expects to release soon, and the master plan is undergoing environmental review with an anticipated council presentation in the fall.
The committee heard a short profile of Garrison (career background in turf management and work at several course properties) intended to introduce course operations staff. Several members suggested additional briefings and an organizational chart for the course so the committee and public understand staff roles.
Procedural note: a member moved to receive and file the activity report and incorporate the requested changes; the meeting concluded later with a motion to adjourn that carried.
