Staff said the applicant has encountered delays securing septic design and that state/county rules allow limited extensions; under the commission’s recent ordinance changes, the applicant can receive two years on the extension. Commissioners discussed whether the existing house on the property could serve as a bath/shower house for the domes; staff said any such use must be within 300 feet of the units and meet commercial access and independent‑entry standards.
The commission moved and seconded a recommendation to approve the extension with additional staff requirements; the motion carried by voice vote. Staff will monitor compliance with the 300‑foot requirement, health‑department approvals and phasing plans before further construction.
