Supervisor Wills told trustees the county had examined the submitted levy and produced its own numbers: "Their numbers are a little bit higher" overall, he said, "but on general assistance, they're very slightly lower," and he said he expected the totals to balance out. Clerk Reyes added that there was "no public comment apparently on the issue" and that the board had complied with legal notice and inspection requirements.
With no public comments recorded, Trustee Clark moved to adjourn the hearing. The motion was seconded (the clerk announced Trustee Navarro as the seconder) and approved by voice vote; the presiding officer announced the motion "is carried." The board reserved formal consideration and any vote to adopt the budget for its next regular meeting.
