City adopts utility salary ordinance, adds safety director and corrects pay grade

Staff also requested and the council approved an amendment to correct a Scrivener’s error: the GIS Analyst pay grade should be 24 rather than the mistakenly listed 21.5. Council moved to suspend the rules and advance the ordinance to third reading the same night; on final vote the ordinance passed 8–0.
Council discussion included a brief question about the Safety Director role and confirmation that positions were budgeted. The ordinance repeals the prior pay plan ordinance and provides for publication and an effective date on the ordinance schedule.
